  10. [What is it?]
  11. =============
  12. PES (Program Encryption System) is a package which allows you
  13. to password protect any executable on your HardDrive in order
  14. to prevent un-authorised use of that program.
  15.  
  16. The package consists  of two main elements - An Encryptor and
  17. a Decryptor.  
  18.  
  19. The Encryptor is the program that you use to actually protect
  20. an executable with a password, a sort of installer :-).  It
  21. encrypts the executable and saves the data to a file.
  22.  
  23. The  Decryptor  is  the program  that takes  the place of the
  24. original executable, and when run reads the data  files which
  25. the Encryptor  created and  prompts for  the password, if the
  26. password is correct then the encrypted data file is DECRYPTED
  27. and executed, if the password is wrong  then nothing happens!

  29.  NO  EXECUTABLE  FILES ARE CHANGED ON INSTALLATION, ONCE THE
  30.  ENCRYPTOR  HAS PROTECTED  THE EXECUTABLE  ITS  UP TO YOU TO
  31.  COPY THE  ORIGINAL  EXECUTABLE  TO DISK AND  DELETE IT FROM
  32.  THE DRIVE!.

  34. [Registration]
  35. ==============
  36. This package is totally FREEWARE  but  the Encryptor has a 20
  37. second  time delay  when it loads.  To remove this time delay
  38. you must REGISTER.  However Registration  is  totally *FREE*,
  39. just e-mail us at : electrus_sw@geocities.com telling us what
  40. name you want the program to be registered in and whether you
  41. want the keyfile to be sent to you via e-mail MIME ENCODED OR
  42. UUENCODED.  You  will then be  sent a keyfile  to your e-mail
  43. address, which when  placed in the  PES_v1.00 directory, will
  44. remove the  time delay!.  You can  also register  via our web
  45. site by filling in the form  (follow the "Register" link from
  46. the top frame).
